Salted Licorice & Lemon Muffins

These black and orange coloured muffins are perfect for Halloween parties! Salted Licorice & Lemon Muffins are really easy to make – no electric mixer, icing or extra decoration needed in this mix & bake recipe!

SALTED LICORICE & LEMON MUFFINS

12 pieces

3 dl all-purpose flour
2 dl granulated sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
150 g butter
2 eggs
1 tsp lemon zest
1/2 dl lemon juice
orange food colouring paste
1/2 dl salted licorice mixer (or lemon juice and black paste food colouring)

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees celsius. Line a muffin tin with paper liners.

Mix all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and vanilla sugar. Melt the butter and divide it into two bowls. Add one egg to each bowl. Into the first bowl, add the lemon zest, the lemon juice and some orange food colouring paste. Into the second bowl, add the salted licorice mixer. Add half of the flour mixture into each bowl.

Spoon the dough into the tin and make a marble patter using a knife.

Bake in the middle of the oven for about 18 minutes until only a couple of crumbs stick to a test stick. Don’t bake too long.
