Quick Cinnamon Rolls

These Quick Cinnamon Rolls are soft and delicious and much quicker to make than the regular ones. The recipe is a variation of quick vanilla rolls we used to make with my best friend when we were children. You just simply mix the ingredients, form the rolls and bake them. Have a delicious national cinnamon roll day!

  • 100 g butter at room temperature (3.5 oz)
  • 1 dl granulated sugar (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

  • 1 egg

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius (392 °F). Dissolve the yeast into warm milk. Add the sugar, cardamom and salt. Add the flour and the soft butter.

Roll the dough into a thin sheet on a surface dusted with flour. Mix the soft butter, sugar and cinnamon. Spread the filling onto the dough. Roll the dough and cut it into about 2 cm wide pieces.

Line a mini muffin tin with paper liners. Place the cinnamon rolls into the tin. Brush the buns with some egg. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 12 minutes.

Notes

You can also make larger cinnamon rolls in a regular sized muffin pan and bake them for a little bit longer. You’ll get about 20 normal sized buns from the recipe (scale 1x).

Hope you enjoy these quick cinnamon rolls and remember to celebrate National Cinnamon Roll day! You can also try my other delicious bun recipes from the blog.
