Easy Salted Caramel Donuts

Easy Salted Caramel Donuts recipe

  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 dl milk (½ cup + 2 tbsp)
  • 1⁄2 dl vegetable oil (3 tbsp + 1 tsp)
  • 3 dl all-purpose flour (1 ¼ cup)
  • 1 dl granulated sugar (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt

  • 1 dl double cream (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 1 dl brown sugar (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 1 dl icing sugar (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)

sea salt flakes

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius. Butter and floura mini donut pan. Mix the egg, milk and vegetable oil. Mix all the dry ingredients and add them into the dough through a sieve. Pour the dough into the tin. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 7 minutes (normal size about 8 minutes). Don’t bake too long so that the donuts don’t dry. Remove from the pan and let cool.

Mix the cream and the brown sugar in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes. Let cool a bit and add the icing sugar. Dip the donuts into the icing and sprinkle with some sea salt flakes.

If you want the caramel to be thicker add some icing sugar.

If you want to make bigger donuts, you will get about 12 regular-sized donuts from the scale 1x recipe.
