Easy Doughnut Holes

These Easy Doughnut Holes are really quick to make because you don’t need to wait for the dough to rise!

Easy Doughnut Holes

  • Total Time: 15 min + 15 min frying
  • Yield: 40 pieces mini-sized 1x
  • Method: Mix & Bake

  • 4 dl all-purpose flour (1 1/2 cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 1 dl granulated sugar (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1⁄2 tsp salt
  • 50 g butter (1.75 oz)
  • 1 dl milk (¼ cup + 3 tbsp)
  • 1 egg

vegetable oil for frying
granulated sugar

Mix all the dry ingredients. Melt the butter and add the milk and the egg. Add the dry ingredients through a sieve.

Heat the oil into 180 degrees celsius (356 °F). The temperature is right when a small drop of dough fries in a couple of minutes.

Use two teaspoons to drop the dough balls into the oil. Fry for 2 minutes.

Lift the doughnuts on paper. Roll the warm doughnuts in sugar.

You can make bigger doughnuts by using two tablespoons to form the dough balls. You’ll get about 20 regular-sized doughnuts (scale 1x).
