Christmas Donuts

Donuts are super easy to make in a donut tin! Just bake the donuts in the oven and they will be perfectly shaped. Add some Christmas flavour to the dough with some cinnamon!

SALTED CARAMEL DONUTS

12 pieces

INTO THE TIN
butter

CINNAMON DONUTS
1 egg (medium size)
1 1/2 dl milk
1/2 dl vegetable oil
3 dl all-purpose flour
1 dl sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla sugar or a couple of drops of vanilla extract
1/2 tsp salt

CARAMEL
1 dl double cream
2 dl brown sugar
100 g butter
1 tsp vanilla sugar or a couple of drops of vanilla extract
3 dl icing sugar
sea salt flakes

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celcius. Butter the donut tin. Mix the egg, milk and vegetable oil in a bowl. Mix all the dry ingredients and add them to the batter through a sieve.

Divide the dough into the tin and bake in the middle of oven for about 8 minutes.

Mix the double cream, brown sugar, butter and vanilla sugar in a sauce pan. Boil for one minute mixing constantly. Let the caramel cool a bit and add the icing sugar through a sieve. Dip the donuts into the caramel and sprinkle some sea salt flakes on the icing.
