Apple Upside Down Cake is one of my favourite recipes for autumn. The caramel makes this cake incredibly moist and delicious!
APPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE
50 g butter
1 dl brown sugar
3 apples
1 1/2 dl milk
1 tsp apple wine vinegar
1 dl vegetable oil
2 eggs
3 dl all-purpose flour
1 1/2 dl granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 175 degrees celsius. Butter and line a 20 cm sized cake tin. Heat the butter and brown sugar in a saucepan at medium heat mixing constantly and bring to a boil. Pour the caramel into the tin.
Cut the apples into slices and press the slices onto the bottom of the tin.
Mix the milk, apple wine vinegar, vegetable oil and eggs. Mix all the dry ingredients and add them into the dough through a sieve. Pour the dough into the tin and bake on the lowest level of the oven for about 45 minutes. Remove the cake from the tin and serve.
